Elementary_A2: 3rd Session: The Oblong Box by Edgar Allan Poe

Dear members of the Reading Club,

It's time to post your comments about what you have read during this week.

So, please, choose a question to answer from the following ones:

a) Was Cornelius' friend imprudent when he asked about the oblong box?

b) Was it OK for Cornelius to stay in the cabin without eating anything?

c) Some people believe that it is bad luck to keep a dead person on a ship, what do you think about it?

d) Why was the oblong box more important for Cornelius than his life?

Then, choose a partner to interact with and reply to his/her post.

Best,

Jimena Rivadeneira, MA. TEFL.

    1. c) I agree with you since I do not consider that there is anything wrong with carrying a corpse on a boat.
      d) Exactly, he was so saddened by the death of his wife that he didn't want to let go of his corpse.

  2. a) I think the way he asked was very reckless, maybe if he had been nicer to ask.
    b) No, it was not okay because despite his sadness he had to keep eating.
