ResponderEliminarThey had an awkward moment by the fire because Nick was finding a way to break up with Marjorie, it was really difficult for him because they were already engaged and also they had planned their lifes with each other.
I'm agree with you, for me, that situation was so uncomfortable because Nick wants to break up with the relation for any cost, and seems Marjory really love him, she take the right decision of get away of him
EliminarThat scene was very uncomfortable, at first I didn't know why but while I was reading I could felt tension between them.
Eliminare) I think that he took all this situation very fast because in the beginning he was almost indifferent with her and then of their break up he felt lost and confused with his decision. Besides, I realized he tried to search excuses to get away from her and I would have liked he would be direct with her in his emotions.

EliminarI agree with you, but I think that from the begining, the story is trying to show us the end, the lumbering town was not there any more and the end of the town changes everything. The life of living in the town and getting married with Marjorie went away with the town dissapearing.
Eliminard) I think that a good way to break up their relationship might be talking about what they did not like of each other, instead to just get carried away their emotions.

Nick processed the break of his relationship so bad, because of my appreciation, so close to the end there are a new character "Bill" him appear suddenly, that makes me think about Bill can be the mind of Nick. He tries to pass over the situation having comfort with him, he doesn't afront the decision he did, in addition, even of all of the love for Marjorie, he wants to be get away from here without any important reason, just superficially things, definitively he doesn't ready to be in a relationship, makes me feel that he has a constant fight with him every day about his decisions.
ResponderEliminarI think that too, because I could see that his friend has been influying in the Nick’s decisions.
