At first, I was somewhat disappointed because I was expecting more excitement, but then I realized I was reading about a crime from the nineteenth century so that made everything more interesting.
ResponderEliminarThe story is about a doctor and a young woman who was not a good person, so the doctor just got fed up and killed her; later, he runs away with his mistress but as they were making their third run, thanks to a radio message, they were caught. Finally, he went through his hanging punishment, which ended the story and his life.
At the end, it was interesting because it was the first crime solved by using a radio message.
My first impression was that I found the book a bit boring because the synopsis did not seem so interesting to me and, also, the genre is not my favorite, however, after reading some of the paragraphs in chapter one, I started to get interested because it is written as Cora she hides behind her dream of being a singer to take the singer to take advantage of and abuse her husband who, tired of this, falls in love with his secretary, and from the first chapter the unexpected death of Cora is presented I am curious and I really want to find out who killed Cora and I hope the book maintains that air of mystery as much as possible.
ResponderEliminarMy first impression was curiousing when i was seen the title.Then i was began to read the book with curiosity.The first chapter talk about the protagonist Mia's family and occupation, Mia is a girland she is only fourteen years old. The girl lives in a cozy apartment in New York with her mother and their fat cat Louis. The girl's mom is a professional artist. She sells her paintings. Mia has only one friend Lilly. This is one of the smartest girls in the class. I will keeping read this book that so interesting and i want know more about this smart girl how to becam a great princess.
ResponderEliminarMy first impressions about the book when I first read the sypnosis I found it really interested, I love crime stories and the fact that are based on real life it makes me wanted to read it inmediately. In the first chapter it tells us about a doctor who was married before but his wife died, he fell in love with a young girl and got married, they moved from NY to London; Cora, the doctor´s wife, wanted to be a singer but she wasn´t good enough and never became famous, she made her husband paid for her vocal lessons but also she was a very bad wife, being cruel with him and also cheated on him. My thoughts about the book and also about the story are that is really easy to read it though I thought it may have more of misteryous or will be more easy to keep interested in but I read just the beggining so I hope the next chapters start to being more interesting
ResponderEliminarMy first impression was that the book was about a normal couple fighting, and the husband was working as a detective or something, but as I read I realized that he was not. The story quickly grabs the reader, the way events occur is very surprising. The first part of the book tells us about the doctor, who had a wife who has already passed away. She is currently with Cora, who with her moved to London, she wanted her husband to earn more money, but suddenly one day he disappeared and now the issue is what happened to him and the suspect seems to be the husband himself. I feel that this work will be quite entertaining, on the one hand because I like the mystery and crime books, I hope and I am not disappointed since I am eager to continue reading and loving the book.
ResponderEliminarThe title of the book ‘Great Crimes’ bring me thoughts like a lot of murders and mystery. I was thinking that there will be blood and blood, with a very dangerous murder. Well, the books started with a peculiar couple Cora and her husband, who is a doctor; they weren’t the perfect couple because of their discussions and fights. Each one met another person, while they were married, and they started to have something like a relationship. Suddenly, Cora, the wife, disappear and here started a searching for her. This beginning gave me curiosity for the story and I will read it, off course, hoping that the develop of the book still be nice for me.
ResponderEliminarAt first, I was interested in the book because it is about criminal cases and have some mystery. The first story was about Hawley and Cora, they were couple that have some problem in their relationship. Hawley works as a doctor and live New York with his wife Cora that wants to be a singer. Later, they move to London and their problems as a couple continue. Then, they meet other people and Cora disappear mysteriously. The first story I thought that it would be more interesting but it was a little predictable, but it was still good. I hope that the rest of the stories would be better.
